The Sound of (Black) Music
The hills are alive with the sound of Black music! Experience the songs from one of the most beloved American musical classics as reimagined through an Afrofuturistic lens, led by a dynamic group of musicians and vocalists, including Brianna Thomas, Chareene Wade, and more.
The uplifting spirit of Black roots music ripples through this production, curated by Michael Mwenso and Jono Gasparro in association with Electric Root. Conceived as a central production within a platform to create a creative healing space for a troupe of predominantly BIPOC artists, the community engagement behind this follows the same intention behind previous tours — ‘HARLEM 100’ & ‘WE SHALL OVERCOME.’
Through My Father's Eyes: The Filipino-American experience in San Francisco exhibit

Following an opening reception on Saturday February 24 from 1-3pm, this exhibit will be on view February 27 through May 2, Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11am to 4pm, and is always free and open to the public.
Additional free events and programs are tentatively planned for May 2-4, 2024.
